There are so many tonic water brands on the market now, so how do you decide which one to use for the gin in your glass? There are no hard and fast rules (taste is subjective after all), and every gin has different botanicals which will pair better with certain tonics. Our Vampiri Martini could just as easily be called “Dracula’s Kiss” or something around that theme. Although the soda aisle in the local grocery store has plenty of tonic water made by big soda companies, these tend to be overly sweet, have an artificial taste, or a combination of the two. Also, using a syrup allows you to decide how strong or weak (and as a result, how bitter) your tonic tastes. My preferred ratio is 1:3, or 2 ounces of gin to 5-6 ounces of tonic water. Brands like Fever-Tree typically come in 6 oz bottles and I find this to be the perfect amount.

There’s no right or wrong here, but different glass shapes will affect the drinking experience. A rounded, balloon glass will funnel the aromatics of the gin to your nose, which can make for a more flavorful drink. The Adult Gin & Tonic 2 in 1 Costume features the main man that brings you so much joy, Mr Gin. The costume consists of an all-in-one green tunic that resembles the famous gin brand. It also features the words, ‘Thanked-way imported’ ‘LONDON GIN’ on the front, plus a comical white bottle cap for the hat. To weaken down your beverage, you’ll need the help of tonic water. This second costume consists of a white and yellow tunic featuring the words, ‘PREMIUM’ ‘Tonic Water’ on the front, with a cute little lime headband to finish off the look.Another option is to add 1/2 ounce or so of your favorite liqueur or flavored syrup. Amaretto makes a semisweet gin and tonic, or enjoy a garden-fresh strawberry tonic with homemade syrup (it works for other fruits, too). You can even turn to that trusted bottle of grenadine. Tonic syrup is a concentrate that you can mix with carbonated water to make your own tonic water. Tonic syrups can be much more economical because a small bottle of relatively inexpensive syrup can make many glasses of tonic. Are you heading to a summer BBQ party, or a food and drink themed party? If so, then look no further, as we have the costume for you! Grab your bestie, or your partner as you become the ultimate drinks duo, the classic Gin & Tonic, in our Adult Gin & Tonic 2 in 1 Costume. A splash of fruit juice, such as apple, cranberry, or orange, adds a hint of flavor and sweetness to this typically dry drink.

The gin and tonic maybe simple, but it's also a great foundation for experimentation. With a few changes here and there, you can create an entirely new drink. Large balloon glasses are also excellent for garnishing with a variety of botanicals to further emphasize the flavors and aromas of the gin. Lime is classic, and lemon is really nice paired with Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic. Try a squeeze of grapefruit juice with Empress 1908 Gin or the herbal Gin Mare. Try adding a sprig of fresh mint and a slice of mandarin orange to citrusy gins to accentuate the bright, fresh flavors. A squeeze of fresh citrus adds freshness and balances the bittersweet flavor of the tonic. Depending on your gin and tonic water of choice, you can choose to use lemon or lime. For a classic take on the Gin and Tonic, choose a London dry gin. I recommend Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, Beefeater, or Sipsmith. In my opinion, a garnish has almost become a bit of a misconception and is seen as an essential component for a Gin and Tonic. And in the last few years, we’ve come a long way from the traditional “ice and slice”, with various herbs and fruits now recommended by many brands A tall and narrow highball glass will preserve more of the carbonation, keeping your drink more effervescent for longer. Try a couple of different glasses with your favorite gin and see which works best for you. Garnish thoughtfully In fact, I hated Gin and Tonics as a twenty-something until I was finally introduced to the high end tonic waters from Fever-Tree and Q Mixers. There are plenty of opinions about what makes the gin and tonic perfect, but I think everyone will agree that you need to begin with a quality gin and a quality tonic water (or tonic syrup).

The final component to your perfect Gin and Tonic is the garnish. A simple lime wedge or lemon wheel will do, but consider adding herbs, fruit, or spices to accent your gin of choice. In addition to garnishing with fruits or herbs, you can also infuse your gin with these botanicals for an even more flavorful G&T! Try my Blueberry-infused Gin and Tonic. Tip: I don’t know if there’s any truth to this, but rolling the citrus on the counter before cutting into it is supposed to yield more juice. Use plenty of quality ice Hand’s up if you love a refreshing, low-calorie drink in the summer months? Spirits are great, but they’re even better with company. Grab your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or friend as you become the ultimate beverage duo wearing our Adult Gin & Tonic 2 in 1 Costume. It makes a great outfit choice for those summer BBQ parties, or any food and drink themed nights out. Everyone loves a classic G ‘n’ T!

I choose an average-sized lime and squeeze half of its juice into my gin and tonics (roughly a half ounce), but you can use less if you prefer. Some like to just top their G&Ts with the juice from a lime wedge.
