What I’m really digging about the 850 is the fact that when a song reaches a crescendo, I don’t feel overwhelmed as if the sound is just out of control. You know the feeling I’m talking about: I read a comment of yours saying that you put 5db down the 9-10k frequencies. Is there any need of fine-tuning the while EQ to make the frequencies more flatter? In the graph, the frequencies around 15-18k is also very high, and the frequency between 4-5k a bit low. Also, the base levels are curved down from around 150Hz to 20Hz. Is there any need of increasing that too? I want to listen in almost possible flat way, that’s why I’m asking this. The HD668B don't do well with EQ when adding bass. They lose some definition and sound a bit too boomy.

Recordemos que los Samson son unos Superlux con un chasis ligeramente distinto, dicho ésto paso a comentar en qué se diferencian y porqué los 668b son superiores a los SR850. As far as durability goes I've only had them for a few days so I can't say much as to how I think they'll stand up over the long term. I will say that the non-removable cable is definitely once again a downside as far as durability goes, but if you're really invested in keeping your SR850s alive and you're handy with a soldering iron I see no reason why you couldn't add an aux connector connector. The headband and metal supports seem quite sturdy given the price, and I expect these to last for years to come. By then I'll likely have something better, but honestly if you're just into them for the looks, for content creators or streamers they look really cool and professional. I think if these things ever have some sort of catastrophic failure I'll either buy a new pair or attempt to fix these myself, as the design seems fairly simple.

it’s hard to decide between these 2 headphones as I’ve swapped them out of the list a couple of times.

First off, Samson’s SR850 headphones cover the entire audible spectrum and more. Going from 10 to 30000 Hz, they go beyond what you can hear. Although it seems redundant, this enables a better distribution of frequencies in the audible spectrum. Additionally, you can also “feel” some of the bottom-ends, not just hear it. Despite how well these headphones sound, I believe they will cater to only certain groups of people. If you want a custom Bitwig Studio headphone profile, get in touch on the comments below with your headphone make and model and I’ll see what I can do for you. Now, without the in-built mic , you might be a bit weary. Don't. I tested it today with Codm and they could hear my voice just fine to the point that they said my breathing is very loud ..lol.. I'd prefer it to a lot of cheaper gaming phones. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. Of course, we’re not here to look into the best headphones for an active lifestyle. It’s not like you’ll be plugging them into your iPhone and go running cross-country. But it’s still always welcome to have studio headphones that can clamp tightly over your head and ears if needed. And even thought they both have detacheable cables, these can still yank the headphones off of your head with sudden movements or pulls.

HD668B scale up a bit better with amplification, while the 681 and SR headphones don't improve as much. So with no EQ applied, this means that you hear all the resonances of the room and areas of audio which should not be heard. At best you get a better sounding hi hat or vocal. However that is only in the headphones. It is not a true version of the sound being created. At worst, it gives you a false output and when translated to another playing system then the music will not sound the same but it will at least save you forking out for headphone equalizer software intitally.

The low-shelf filter can be adjusted for bass and the High-shelf filter can be adjusted for treble. Adjust the preamp accordingly so that levels stays below -0.2 dBFS. Being that they have a 32 Ohm Impedance and 98dB of Sensitivity, they’re very efficient (meaning they don’t need a lot of power from an amp), and don’t resist power at all.

AKG K240 is in a higher price category. At the same time, the difference in quality is noticeable. Sure, you’d have to pay more for them. But at the end of the day, it really pays off. Today I will provide a no-nonsense comparison of these two, and then give my recommendation towards the end. 🙂 The overall build and make of these headphones feels rather cheap. The plastic is very thin and flimsy, and the ear cup padding seems likely to rip. Price & Value For Money Winner: AKG K240 8. Pros & Cons: Samson SR850 vs AKG K240 Samson SR850 Pros & Cons Pros: Do you believe the hype? You should do. Every little tweak in the EQ setting of a sound has an effect somewhere. This means a boost in the low can impact how we perceive the highs. The key to it all is finding a balance between your different areas of the mix.Flattening the curves gives you a more true sound in your headphones. Although the sound may not be as perfect in the Samson SR850 headphones, it certainly will be more accurate when played on other systems. At this price range I don't think there exists an outright better product when it comes to sound quality. However ,it definitely needs equalizer. When I play songs I already have the files-- mp3 or flacs ,my main music player is jet audio. I tune down my phone system sound preset to the second most bass heavy or third most bass heavy and it would sound wonderful for a more rich and detailed music..those with clear acoustic and percussions...the same do not necessarily well for metal genre for example. If I have to play from youtube or spotify, then I have to use the most bass heavy preset in my system sound. I'm not talking about custom presets here but the presets already stored are enough honestly. But, I feel like you need to change up a bit depending upon the songs you listen to ,to get the best out of it.
