Vista 2 is designed to survive, real-world tested, and guaranteed to perform. Jaybird also says they are crushproof which means you could accidentally stand on an earbud, and it should be able to handle it – I haven’t tested this myself however. There’s no shortfall in stereo imaging either; the initial drum-fill moves just as decisively from our left ear into both – there’s just a fraction of extra detail to be dug up from the Cambridge Audios. Verdict Search the internet or Jaybird forums for the “green led of death” and you’ll find countless people with a pair of Jaybird headphones which suddenly are completely unresponsive, won’t turn on, and immediately show a green LED (charged) upon plugging them in on the charging cable. For true wireless earbuds with active noise canceling, being able to get 24 hours of total use is pretty awesome. A single use of the earbuds will get you 8 hours of play time without ANC on, and 6 hours with ANC. Today Jaybird announced their new Vista 2 earbuds, which add a host of new features, including many aimed at the endurance sports crowd. From increased waterproofing and even military-spec resistance levels, to SurroundSense noise pass-through, better wind cancellation, rapid charging, and more. In theory, these new features would make it more appealing to athletes, including their sponsored cycling teams like L39ION, who they added today (and is also sponsored by Zwift for indoor training). They're not perfect, especially if you're on a budget, want best in class noise cancellation or you're looking for a long battery life. But they're a solid pair of all-rounder true wireless earbuds that make fantastic exercise companions. Also consider... Connectivity and Stability Issues: Some users have reported connection issues and intermittent drops in audio quality. These issues could potentially be improved in the next release by using newer Bluetooth technology. They’ve also completed testing against MIL-STD-810G, which is a US military standard for how you can test devices in certain environmental conditions. Jaybird says they aren’t aligning to any military here, but simply noting that their product exceeds ruggedness standards that are well defined in this spec.Connectivity-wise the buds feature Bluetooth 5 and JBS1 wireless technology. The tech works a treat and meant the Vista were able to maintain a connection and continue pumping out audio in busy signal areas that made my Galaxy Buds and Amps Air 2.0 all but unusable.

You can also sync them to Jaybird’s nifty app, which allows you to opt for a different style of your audio through a selection of EQ options. There’s even the option to tweak it to your own tastes.As a final perk, build quality is excellent. Like all Jaybird’s, the Vista have an IPX7 water/sweat resistance rating. This means they’ll easily survive the wear and tear expected of a gym set. They don’t have a wide range of codec support and that leaves some sound quality on the table. There’s plenty of volume and highs, mids, and lows all sound clear although there’s less warmth than something like the Sennheiser Momentum 3 true wireless. Again though, what saves them is the excellent ear seal. These might not be the pinnacle of sound quality, but being immersed goes a long way. There’s also a lot of adjustability in the app to tune the sound to your tastes which is another help. An area where the Jaybird Vista 2 buds really excel is workout performance. The new features and the even more impressive IP rating make the Vista 2 not only sound clearer in loud environments but also more resilient, no matter how sweaty/hard your workout is.
