Overdoing it may accentuate the Isobutyl Quinoline, causing a potent dry down that could be perceived as overwhelming.

Curiously I started to appreciate more the similar fragrances of Swiss Arabian's "Shaghaf Oud Abyad" and Ard Al Zaafaran's "Midnight Oud" , for their roughness and aggressivity.Definitely something that will be noticed, excellent on a technical level, subjectively not very pleasing to me. Smokey incense, a little smidge of oud that isn't loud or brash, an absolutely intoxicating amber warmth and sweetness, and the loveliest woody base with a gentle leather undertone, all washed in breathy spice.

I also get that maybe the pepper note is just too much for me personally, I've had sauvage in the past and for all the hate it gets because it's monopolised the designer market for someone just wanting to pick up a safe fragrance, I own the EDP and certainly appreciate it. With such thoughts one learns to be able to decide emotionally what applies to one and what does not. Spectacular on a technical level, but I’m not sure I like — or trust — Interlude enough to ever purchase it again. In the afternoon, still rocking back and forth, I could perceive a veritable cloud of fragrance, growing sweeter and more pleasant. I have over 70 bottles and i know this one is powerful because she has mentioned a few times she can smell me in the next room. It definitely has an ashy quality, but it smells like only the finest combustibles (woods, resins, herbs, vanilla pods) were burned gently and slowly, leaving no harsh edges or disintegrated notes.

I can appreciate how well it's put together, especially with the amber coming through in the drydown, but the pepper / oregano notes are just far too much for me. I would even say that if you're in a stagnant marriage, this will make your wife weak at the knees and turn her into a naughty cat. Years ago (before lockdown I think) like a cheapskate I bought a bottle of Midnight Oud by Ard Al Zaafaran, blind.Amouage's "frag," not fragrance, is nothing of the sort, instead opting to make the interlude the main event, which is an all day and tiresome affair. The more I wear it, the more the cedar forest takes on slighlty powdery oakmoss notes, but overall, it's a melange of spicy forest with sap/resin and rich bark notes. I can however appreciate how this could and would possibly be a scent which others at a distance could appreciate on you, but even then it would be at the cost of feeling like you want to sneeze all day yourself. Sometimes a spritz in the evening after a long day of work can also have a beautifully soothing effect.

A statement trilogy made for the bold, including three refillable 10ml travel sprays of Interlude Man eau de parfum, Interlude Black Iris Man eau de parfum, Interlude 53 Man extrait de parfum. He also explained the use of ingredients: “Amouage has established an enviable reputation for re-inventing accustomed scents. So when I read various sites (I didn't have a full bottle of Amouage at the time) about what fragrances Journey Man contained and what exactly I was smelling here, "Interlude Man" was suggested to me. Despite a smoldering core of a scent profile, the top notes make it fresher and sweeter to my nose than its reputation would have had me believe. When I first sprayed it and during the first 15-20 minutes - I kinda enjoyed it, it smells good when first applying. The products don't quite project like Mancera or last in terms of spray ratio, but just add an extra spray or two and they're on Mancera's level. hours into Interlude Man what I get is the spicy facet of its Patchouli note along with remnants of its Pimento note.
