Description

ABU products may be installed with either bolts or nails (not both) to achieve table loads. ABU88Z, ABU88RZ, ABU1010Z, ABU1010RZ, and ABU1212Z/RZ may be installed with (8) 1/4" x 3" Strong-Drive® SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws (sold separately) for the same table load. All Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchors come with a hex washer head that does not require the use of a separate washer. The hex head leaves a very clean look once installed with no stud or nut protruding above the fixture. The hex washer head is serrated, giving the Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchors very good vibration resistance once the head of the Titen It is easy to remove, so it’s ideal for temporary anchoring of formwork, bracing, or for applications where fixtures may be moved. Availability with either a hex head or, for a smoother installed profile, a T30 6-lobe-drive countersunk head

Drill a hole in the base material using a carbide drill bit the same diameter as the nominal diameter of the anchor to be installed. Drill the hole to the specified embedment depth plus minimum hole depth overdrill (see table below) to allow the thread tapping dust to settle, and blow it clean using compressed air. (Overhead installations need not be blown clean.) Alternatively, drill the hole deep enough to accommodate embedment depth and the dust from drilling and tapping. The anchor includes a hex-washer head for a cleaner installed appearance. No separate washer is necessary unless it is required by code. Prescriptive" denotes spacing requirements per the IEBC and designs per the IRC and conventional provisions of the IBC. From testing to service to availability, everything we do is engineered to ensure your project's success. With every product, you know you are getting the quality, value, service and on-time delivery that we have built our reputation on for the past 60 years.

Drill a hole in the base material using the appropriate diameter carbide drill bit as specified in the table. Drill the hole to the specified embedment depth plus 1/2" to allow the thread tapping dust to settle and blow it clean using compressed air. Overhead installations need not be blown clean. Alternatively, drill the hole deep enough to accommodate embedment depth and dust from drilling and tapping. Refer to a chart that provides the diameter of the anchor, the recommended fixture, the hole diameter, and the wrench size before installation. Many of these products are approved for installation with Strong-Drive® SD Connector screws. Model No. Models THDC25238CS6SS, THD37212CS and THD37212CS6SS do not meet minimum embedment depth requirements for strength design and require maximum installation torque of 25 ft. – lb. using a torque wrench, driver drill or cordless 1/4" impact driver with a maximum permitted torque rating of 100 ft. – lb. Align the hole in the fixture with the hole in the base material and then insert the Titen HD anchor through the fixture hole and into the hole in the base material.

From fully tested and engineered connectors and clipsSimpson Strong-Tie ® provides comprehensive structural solutions for cold-formed steel construction. From steel-to-steel connections to full-scale lateral solutions and curtain wall connectors, we remain committed to developing new technology that helps to advance the cold-formed steel industry. Type 300 Series stainless-steel screw anchors have different corrosion-resistant properties for different environments. When matched to the appropriate environment and application, anchors made from Type 300 Series stainless steel will resist the effects of corrosion and maintain their strength and integrity.

These models do not meet minimum embedment depth requirements for strength design and require maximum installation torque of 25 ft. – lb. using a torque wrench, driver drill or cordless 1/4" impact driver with a maximum permitted torque rating of 100 ft. – lb.

Drill a hole in the base material using a carbide drill bit (complying with ANSI B212.15) with the same diameter as the nominal diameter of the anchor to be installed. Drill the hole to the specified minimum hole depth overdrill (see table below) to allow the thread tapping dust to settle, and blow it clean using compressed air. (Overhead installations need not be blown clean.) Alternatively, drill the hole deep enough to accommodate embedment depth and the dust from drilling and tapping. The Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor is manufactured in carbon steel that is heat treated, and is available in zinc plating or a mechanically galvanized finish. Codes and Approvals Nominal embedment depth for post-installed anchors into concrete must be 4" for SET-3G™ or AT-XP®, or use THD50400H Titen HD® screw anchors. Anchorage into CMU is per designer.

Post-installed concrete fasteners need to be placed a minimum distance from an unsupported edge. The rule of thumb for expansion anchors is five times the diameter. The Titen HD® heavy-duty screw anchor’s minimum distance from an unsupported edge is 1-3/4” for all diameters. Titen HD® Inspection Patented Torque Reduction Channel that traps dust where it can’t obstruct the thread action, reducing the likelihood of binding in the holeMechanical galvanizing meets ASTM B695, Class 65, Type 1. Intended for exterior application and some interior pressure-treated wood sill plate applications. See Supplemental Topics for Anchors.
