So I should start by saying I listening to this as an audio book and I think that the narration had a big part to play in my initial lack of enjoyment of the novel as a whole. This woman who had such a successful acting career yet she held in so much, keeping her cards close to her chest. Atticus is an intriguing character and one that kept surprising me throughout as he is hired as a private investigator by the wife of a man accused of wiping out his entire family. Mark Dawson is a new author to me, but I’m sure many of you will be familiar with his bestselling John Milton Series or Beatrix Rose thrillers. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

He’s hired by the wife of a man on trial for killing four members of his family to look into the crime. The animal characters are shown in atmospheric woodland and lakeside landscapes depicted in a soft painterly pallet while bolder colours are used in indoor scenes. A cleverly plotted murder mystery full of tension and suspense - you won't be able to put this Mark Dawson thriller down!

At first, Amber - preoccupied by turmoil in her professional life and her love life - is happy to be kept at a distance by her great-aunt, but soon becomes very curious about the family rift and why they have never met until now. The prosecution case has Ralph Mallender in the dock, the eldest brother and the only member of the family not in the farm house that fateful evening. Stranger Things meets Point Horror in the first of a brilliant new series for readers aged 11+ from Yvette Fielding, British television's first lady of the paranormal and presenter of Most Haunted .

The John Milton series features a disgruntled special agent who aims to help people to make amends for the terrible things that he has done. When Clovis, Eve and Tom decide to play with a ouija board in an old abandoned house on Halloween, none of them foresees the horrors they're about to unleash. It seems like an open and shut case but new evidence comes to light and Mack suspects Ralph is in fact the perpetrator. As wonderful and engaging as all of Mark’s books are, I have to admit that there’s just that something in this style of writing that takes him one tiny notch above the rest of his excellent stories. In the early years she partied hard, burning the candles at both ends as she tried to forget her past but it would never let her be.He’s in the look for a big case and that comes in the form of the wife of a man who’s supposedly murdered his family on Christmas Eve while he will be the only one who’s to inherit the family’ possessions. Yes, I had my suspicions as to who it could be and also as to their motives but I was proven totally wrong and that’s the sign of an excellent book in this genre.
