The addition of Bluetooth means the 322GW also has emergency response features. In case of an emergency, the camera can alert the emergency services and provide them with your location and other relevant details. There are safeguards in place to prevent accidental calls. It also has intelligent parking mode that will monitor your vehicle when not in use and record any movements it detects. We recommend the official Nextbase hardwire kit for this to prevent your battery from draining. On the dash cam's screen you'll see a menu of 3 options. Please select 'Mass Storage' on the Dash Cam screen and then OK so that only that displays on the screen.

We’ll start by looking at a comparison table of the main features and then review each one below. Series 2 Comparison ChartThe 622GW is the only dashcam in the range to feature a resolution of 4k, this allows for really crisp videos and you’ll be able to identify signs, faces and reg plates with ease. Another upgrade you’ll find in the 622GW that wasn’t features in the 522GW is digital image stabilization, this works much like it does on high end DSLR cameras to digitally make videos smoother and iron out the bumps.

Just like the in the photos, it looks great! It feels very well put together, hard wearing plastic make for a good looking unit with the buttons easily accessed on the rear of the unit. On the other hand, if you’re keen to record extremely high-quality, clear footage - for example, if you live in a busy town and are prone to encountering hazardous situations - then the extra cash isn't too much of a push. It’ll get you clearer, more fluid footage, which for a lot of dash cam buyers matters more than value - and it's still much cheaper than many inferior cameras. Image quality is excellent, even in low light conditions. The 412GW records in up to 1440P at 30 frames per second, but it’s perhaps at its best in 1080P at 60 frames per second, which provides extremely clear, crisp, fluid video. Nextbase’s middle-of-the-road option (pardon the pun) is the 322GW. The camera hardware of the 322GW are similar to the 222 with a 1080p resolution, 140 viewing angle and a 2.5” screen, although this has been upgraded to a touch screen. It sits very well in the purpose built magnetic cradle which can be fitted permanently in the car and is unlikely to fall out if you have a minor accident. Simply put the unit near the magnet when you enter the car and it will attach itself.

If the Dash Cam does not appear as a drive on your PC, please press the reset button on the underside of your Dash Cam and try all the USB ports on your computer. Having said above that the software is a bit flaky we can still upload camera footage into the supplied software, Mac fans need not worry as they have both Mac and Windows versions. The Nextbase 522GW dashcam is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices. The device records in HD quality, producing clear footage even in low lighting. The dashcam is designed to be user-friendly, with simple controls that allow easy operation. If the dash cam does not appear as a drive on your PC, please press the reset button on the underside of your dash cam and try all the USB ports on your computer.

Can take a card up to 32GB. Giving you just over 2 hours of recorded footage before it writes over the video and the same for running at 1080p recording. Vital for recording and storing the video you catch on your 412GW. G-Sensor: GPS data is plotted on a map along with G-forces, speeds travelled and lots of other very useful information. Proving very popular when trying to deal with your insurance company as this data is normally very hard to prove without such a technology.

Nextbase have reserved many of their best features for the 622GW which was announced later than the other devices in the Series 2 Dashcam range and only went on sale in 2020. For added convenience, the 412GW has an automatic recording function that starts and stops recording as you drive. This eliminates the need for manual operation and ensures that you capture all important moments on the road. It also has a loop recording feature, which overwrites the oldest footage when the memory card is full, ensuring continuous recording without interruption. The Nextbase 422GW brings all of the features of Alexa from your home into the car, along with voice control so you can focus on the road. Get driving directions, make calls, play music or ask Alexa to send the video straight to your phone, all hands free.
