Guitar Guitar Limited trading as guitarguitar acts as a credit broker not a lender and is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, firm registration number 742103. For that "large" (compared to size and features) amount of money you could get a relatively good distortion pedal or almost a delay pedal. Now knowing the effect it has to the tone i couldn't be more pleased, i have it right next to my guitar in the pedal chain and sometimes the Dyna comp is the only thing needed to get some amazing tones out of a Vox AC-15.

It applies perfectly to MXR’s pedals; it’s a phaser and it phases, it’s a delay and it creates delay, it’s a compressor and it compresses etc… In an ever expanding world of freaky, tweakable, innovative pedals there’s something reassuring about the simplicity and functionality of MXR pedals.I noticed a difference with the double stops at the beginning of clip sounding more cleaned up than it did without compression. The muddiness that came from playing double-stop chords with a crunch setting seemed to be cleaned up by the DynaComp in a nice way that I was not expecting.

The Dyna Comp has been my fav compressor, even with all the advances that have been added over the years.Spec'd from our own 1976 Dyna Comp Compressor, this pedal is built around the rare CA3080 "metal can" integrated circuit (IC), which yields quieter operation, greater transparency, and increased dynamic range. You have the tried and true Boss sound that you have come to expect with some added custom features not available on the original models. The answer, crank up the tone control on the compressor and I’m pretty much back to where I was without it. Say what you will of the Dyna Comp, it certainly can't be accused of not having enough compression; I've never had the sensitivity up beyond 1/2 o'clock, which is plenty heavy compression. I used specific settings for each kind of tone that can serve as a guideline, but it is best to work with the sensitivity with each tone you are using.

While it packs a lot into such a small box, for those needing much greater control you may need to look at another model. The Dyna Comp Bass Compressor delivers the most iconic compression sound in music history, tweaked and tuned just for bass players.Overdrive is literally what you get when a tube is pushed beyond its voltage limits causing a clip in the top of the waveforms resulting in a slight warm, fat and sometimes, sizzly tone. A simple, two-knob interface allows for control over output and sensitivity, ensuring your guitar solos and rhythm parts are as consistent and punchy as possible. This approach certainly works to maintain most of what I love about the character of my drive pedals but I feel like having the compressor later in the chain robs me of a bit of my signal’s higher frequencies.

MXR also produces a 'vintage' Dyna Comp, with the 1970s "script" logo, and an updated version, the Super Comp, which has an "Attack" control that determines its "bite-/squash ratio". Thanks to its rare CA3080 “metal can” integrated circuit (IC), this pedal yields quieter operation, greater transparency, and increased dynamic range. Additionally make sure your User-Agent is not empty and is something unique and descriptive and try again. When 18 and Life played back and I heard Scotti play the first three notes in the solo, I got chills.

Generally speaking, I found that having the Dyna Comp before all of these pedals left the effects unaffected, and only impacted my tone, which is what I wanted. It’s brilliant for funk, R’n’B or reggae style snappy rhythm playing but also great for twangy and even bluesy lead playing. Though I used to run a compressor early in my chain, I now like it towards the end because I have some nice fancy ‘touch-sensitive’ overdrive pedals and I want them to respond to my playing dynamics before the signal gets compressed. Whether it’s adding clarity to open chords, cleaning up muddiness and adding subtle tightness to crunch, making the low end of high-gain power chords subtly bolder, or adding a tinge of sweetness to high-end runs, there is a place for this pedal no matter what style you play!
