Additional games, systems and/or accessories may be required for multiplayer mode. Games, systems and some accessories sold separately. Now, Golf Club Wasteland isn’t exactly a traditional golfing game. It does, however, require you to consider the trajectory of your ball, hit with the appropriate amount of power, and try to get in the hole as efficiently as possible. But rather than playing on a green, you’re instead playing on an apocalyptic wasteland. This is Earth, in the future, when all it is good for is a rich man’s crazy golf course.

The game mechanics in Golf Peaks are deceptively simple. The aim of the game is to get the ball in the hole in as few moves as possible, but there’s a layer of intrigue added with a card mechanic that dictates how many spaces you can move in one go. As the game develops, you’ll have to contend with more puzzles, styles of shot and obstacles. My biggest problem is that it's signing out so many times even though my internet is okay. It's so frustrating. It also takes a long time to find other players to play against. Then suddenly on hole 4 you're signed out... Although Ubisoft’s Sports Party game includes a range of sports other than golf, it’s still one of the best golf games on Switch right now. It offers up perhaps the most realistic golfing experience on the console, even if it is a bit limited. For those who prefer their golfing games much less serious, Infinite Minigolf is for you. A series of minigolf (or crazy golf, depending where you live) courses, it’s all about making precise putts and having a lot of fun in the process. The in-game world is absolutely charming. You can play as a number of cute dog characters, and get to explore a vibrant, retro world with pixelated graphics. There are 20 different courses to work through in the single player campaign, each with a unique style and theme.Players all hit their golf ball at the same time in Party Golf, making for a beautifully chaotic and silly game. This may sound like it would be too messy on screen, but Party Golf has a surprisingly pleasant, simplistic style that makes it easy enough to follow along with. It’s a genius gameplay mechanic, and lends itself to the many game modes available within the game itself.

Is it a good golf game for the switch? Definitely! If you like golf then you'll have a lot of fun playing on your Switch. Even if you just play it with friends, similar to FIFA.

Could it be better? Definitely! Hopefully they will include some courses and fix the bugs at a later point, but for now I'm just trying to get my swing together and learn how to play. Play against the pros. Play with your crew. In PGA TOUR 2K21, you can play by the rules or create your own!

One of my favorite things about this title is the party mode, which allows you to split the screen down the middle and play a game with a friend. It’s unfortunate that it only stretches to two players, but the format works well and it makes for an enjoyable experience. There’s a heap of Mario sports games available, and Mario Golf: Super Rush is arguably one of the most enjoyable installments to get your hands on right now. It’s fast-paced, lighthearted and very enjoyable to sit and play through with friends. Infinite Minigolf is a premium example of a modern mini golf game for the Switch. It’s a great party game, and offers lots of solo play options as well. It plays well, the controls aren’t too complex and the user generated maps make it very enjoyable to play through. What the Golf? Why? Well, it’s clearly been designed with love, and with only one goal in mind: for its players to have a riotous, hilarious time. At first glance it might look like a normal golfing game, and indeed, your goal is always to get something to the flag on the green. We say ‘something’ because rarely is it a regular golf ball you’re putting. Fling a golf club across the screen? That’s more like it in What the Golf?. The best levels are those that poke fun at other games: we love the levels based on SUPERHOT and Angry Birds. If you’re yet to play this, do so pronto.
