There were SO many times where super awkward word choices were used here that reminded me of that scene.

I see myself reading this simply because it had the brother’s rival trope and it’s one of my favorites. Makes me forget there’s a team of guys relying on me to lead them to victory against our main rival. Partly because I’ve never been in one, and mostly because whatever Maeve and I have defies the norms of what any rational person would consider to be one. PLEASE TELL ME THAT IRL AMERICAN TOWNS ARE NOT SO OBSSESSED WITH HIGH-SCHOOL FOOTBALL AND THAT THE RIVALRY WAS JUST THE STUFF OF BOOKS? It was nicely shown - they shared some really cute moments together and Wes proved to be a real dear, despite his star stature as the imposing captain of the football team.

Maeve- daughter to the home team’s football coach AND twin sister to Liam, their home team’s starting quarterback; double whammy! And this is a very different take on several old tropes; Coaches daughter, secret girlfriend and enemies to lovers. He was pretty well developed as a character and was the right mix of flawed yet deserving of the girl.

Even though this specific story is nothing like my own high school experience or anyone I know, it for sure sparked a walk down memory lane. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, although I would've liked to see more of the couple's established relationship after all was set and done. The MMC is equally genuine and well rounded with his own set of issues but it gives the book context and vibe. This was such a fun time, I was smiling so much it hurt and crying a bit at the end cause things got too real, and I didn't want it to be over. I wasn't really sure what to expect going in especially because I was getting Romeo and Juliet vibes from the synopsis, but I really enjoyed this book!When it did happen, even though they weren't on speaking terms they still showed up for each other when it came to their games (he plays american football and she plays soccer aka real football lol). I gave it 4 stars because I wished the supporting characters were developed more and that the relationships between the main characters and their friends/family were explored.

This book reminded me of the Off-Campus series, but much milder sex scenes - which really isn’t a bad thing at all!I was a little disappointed there wasn't as much spice as we usually get from CW Farnsworth but then I reminded myself that this is set in High school and therefore I completely understood it!
