Three young girls Catrin, Judith and Lana form a instant bond from primary school and swear an oath on a curly wurly wrapper. They pledge to always be there for each other come what may.

We’re working on making Three+ available to our Home Broadband and Mobile Broadband customers soon. I was expecting this book to be funny and uplifting, but I found it to be slow, predictable and boring... I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review. There's no real plot, all the characters are flat and unlikeable, so are the relationships. The friendship between the three mains isn't believable and I actually do not have a clue why they haven't been able to move on from each other for 30 years when half the time it seems they barely like one another.Three launched 5G in August 2019, is the largest holder of spectrum in the UK and has been recognised by Ookla as having the UK’s fastest 5G network. It is the only operator able to meet the International Telecoms Union (ITU) 2020 standard of 100MHz of contiguous spectrum for full 5G services. Oh my goodness this felt like the good old days or early Marian Keyes, Lisa Jewell and Sophie Kinsella and this novel evoked the same feelings in me as those early novels did. I loved this book so much more than I was expecting and I can feel it with me even now. Jones's trademark warmth and humour suffuse the novel with comedy and pathos, making for a heart-warming, entertaining and, at times, deeply moving story The Observer Lana, Judith and Catrin have been best friends since infants school. With all their lives ahead of them they spend the summer of their A levels travelling the Greek Islands and yet some decisions they make on this fateful holiday will shape their lives for years to come. Lana, Judith and Catrin live in a small Welsh town and they are the best of friends. When they were eight years old, they swore an oath on a Curly Wurly wrapper that they would remain friends for life.

The book is about 3 friends and basically charts their 40 or so years of friendship and everything that happens in it, I felt it gained momentum as the book went on but then ( as in many books/tv ) the seeds for the rest of the story had to be set, it’s a book of love, laughs, disasters, recriminations, ‘falling out’s’, birth’s, death’s and marriages and pretty much everything and anything else that can be thrown it’s way I loved this brilliantly gripping depiction of the complexities of female friendship over the years. Love, betrayal, comedy and loss - Us Three has it all.' FIONA NEILLIt all finishes happily and we all like that once in a while in a book and so on the whole would say I enjoyed it and am glad gave it the time to grow on me ( and Nessa to disappear ) Amazing read. I could not put this book down. Following these three ladies through life was addictive. Immersive from the start, emotive throughout and just throughly readable. This is such an easy book to read with laughs and a few tears along the way. Highly recommended. Catrin is from a loving Irish family, Lana from a large family where she is the eldest of a number of siblings and Judith is an only child who has a difficult relationship with her complex and emotionally abusive mother. Their holiday is one of the last times the three of them spend quality time together before an event damages their friendship for many years to come. The friendships seemed like they lost their way very early on and I wondered why they couldn’t just move on - did they not make more friends as they got older? Why hold on to toxic relationships or people??

Finally, in a lower register (said by people who have never learned grammar or prefer to ignore it) you will hear I have heard good things about Ruth Jones through her TV work and her previous novel Never Greener, so I was curious to see how Us Three pans out. Three childhood friends, Lana, Judith and Catrin, best friends since primary school when they swore an oath on a Curly Wurly wrapper that they would always be there for each other, come what may. But their friendship is tested to the limits and their childhood promise seems likely to be broken. Us Three is about three friends; Lana, Judith and Catrin who meet in primary school and promise upon a Curly Wurly wrapper to always be friends. Forever and ever. Nothing will ever break them. Ever. Of course life doesn’t really work like that, and in Us Three Ruth Jones explores female friendship and family through Lana, Judith and Catrin. The second novel by the co-writer and star of Gavin & Stacey follows three female friends over the course of four decades. Each woman faces challenges that test the limits of their friendship, from addiction and infidelity to toxic relationships, grief and betrayal. Throughout, Jones’s trademark warmth and humour suffuse the novel with comedy and pathos, making for a heart-warming, entertaining and, at times, deeply moving story. Men Who Hate WomenHowever, when they return to Wales, they have to grow up and then something happens that shakes this friendship to the core. Can they forgive and forget or are some thing simply too big to move beyond. I absolutely loved this so much. There were moments that made me cry and other moments that made me laugh.'
