Some of the plot was a little bit too dull, I really was only interested in this because it's set in Glasgow and I have much love for the place, however, this didn't really add anything to the story. I broke my hand on that holiday, which gave me six weeks off work, that's how Sex In The Glasgow City was born.

As Scott living in America was delighted with the Glasgow banter and memories of growing up Scottish. DNF - I read over 100 pages and Zara constantly speaks negatively of herself and gets obsessed over toxic relationships that leave you uncomfortable. However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. Sophie began writing A Glasgow Kiss by mapping a basic spider diagram including her and her best friend’s worst dates and wrote the story around the mishaps. There are a few minor grammar issues, and the continual fish references were a bit off-putting, but A Glasgow Kiss is a thoroughly enjoyable read that I fully recommend.I feel bad giving this such a low rating, I did find this book a really easy read and I enjoyed reading a romance set in Glasgow and featuring places I know. At a young age, she found herself writing funny stories or poems to friends and family for special occasions, and after high school she undertook a performing arts diploma, flourishing in her creative writing class. I got very anger close to the end where after Tom decided Zara wasn’t good enough he went back to her and she didn’t even really put up a fight, she just feel back into his arms and I just lost it. I love how we get to follow her around the city and if you have been to Glasgow you will know many of these places.

We've all had endless supplies of dating experiences, from the weird to downright quirky and OMG epic scenarios, but like Zara, nothing beats catching up with the besties and offloading the hot gossip. This book is hilarious a bit raunchy so if you are not easily offended it’s a must read you will be laughing out loud. Then there’s Seth, who her sister Emily sets her up on a blind date with after Emily meets at the gym. The story is dull and predictable and even Glasgow as a setting is pointless because none of the geography makes sense (taxi from the Italian Centre to George Square?Sophie your blog posts are hilarious, even with the pandemic putting a lock down on your dating life. If you're looking for an innocent and cute love story this summer then this one is not for you haha. Having finished the book, I sought out the authors original blog (www) and I do wonder if ‘A Glasgow Kiss’ is a dating memoir, rather than a work of fiction.

Perhaps the most startling is that Sophie wrote the book while juggling the demands of being a full-time nurse in a busy Glasgow hospital during lockdown with the responsibilities of being a single mother to two children. Zara's an infinitely relatable character; she's funny and goofy and constantly second-guessing herself. Zara’s somewhat turbulent dating life makes me incredibly chuffed to be happily married and not having to encounter the world of tinder in my late twenties. This was a kindle deal and since I'm in a bit of a romance mood at the moment, I thought I'd pick this up.

The story was okay, but I did get a bit fed up of some of the stuff repeating throughout (why does she continually refer to her vagina as fishy?

Trust me, Sophie Gravia's well written book "A Glasgow Kiss" is not short in missing out vital details. She had such a negative attitude and the message that being skinny because you’ve been so sad over a guy that you don’t eat was never addressed and almost written like it was a positive thing to happen. Her blog exposes bizarre, questionable and downright unforgettable dating experiences, both from Sophie and followers. Was buzzing to read this given I could identify with the location and I wanted to support local talent. This book follows Zara, who is sick of being single so she joins dating apps and embarks on some whirlwind experiences. In all the spilling and leaking and splashing, though, there’s humanity and compassion as one girl struggles through shame and self-doubt to find what everyone is looking for: love and a little tenderness. A Glasgow Kiss, was released with a new book cover than Sophie’s original (the Duke of Wellington Statue- featuring the iconic Glaswegian cone) to target a larger audience down South. Anchored by Sophie, she’s bringing the sass and spilling the tea on real-life experiences that have inspired her hilarious stories.
